🦋Why should I release butterflies?
Butterflies typically stay in the area they are released in if there are nectar flowers and milkweed. That means they will help repopulate the area that they are released in. The next time you see a butterfly, it might be a descendant from one you released!
🦋What if I want to release balloons instead of butterflies?
Balloons are not environmentally friendly and are a danger to our ocean life. Balloon releases are not allowed in Hawaii.
🦋Do Hawaii butterflies migrate?
No, there is no reason for them to migrate. It is warm enough for them to survive.
🦋Is releasing butterflies at a scattering of ashes in the ocean is okay?
It is very windy over the ocean and not a good idea to release them over water. It is better to release them before or after the ceremony on land.
🦋I just heard about butterfly releases. Is it possible to get butterflies without a lot of advance notice?
Yes, it is possible but the more notice possible the greater the chance of having enough butterflies for your special occasion.
