About Darlene

It is all about Sharing the Butterfly Experience, which is what I enjoy doing!

It started with a curiosity.  I wondered if I could get butterflies to come to my garden if I had a milkweed plant.  I purchased one and put it in the garden.  The next time I checked there were tiny caterpillars happily eating.  Fast forward: I figured out how to get the caterpillars safely to the chrysalis stage.  Approximately 10 days later my beautiful Monarch butterflies were born.  I shared my amazing experience with lots of family and friends and was encouraged to start a business to help others have the same experience.

After much soul searching, I decided to call my company after what I enjoy most: Sharing the Butterfly Experience.  Raising butterflies is such a rewarding and therapeutic process and I encourage everyone to try it.  It is very addicting!  What was once a hobby is now an obsession! Ask those that I’ve taught.

The transformation process of butterflies is so symbolic to new beginnings and new chapters of our lives.

I am located on the island of Oahu, but am able to ship to all Hawaiian Islands.

My team of butterfly ranchers raise Monarch butterflies throughout the year for all special events (weddings, funerals, memorials, birthdays, Bar Mitzvah, Quinceanera, fundraisers, etc.).  Hawaii butterflies don’t migrate. There is no reason for them to leave the warm sunshine so we enjoy butterflies all year.

I am proud to be the only Hawaii member of both the International Butterfly Breeders Association and Association For Butterflies. I thoroughly enjoy sharing the beauty and wonder of live butterflies.

People are looking for a unique experience. I provide Monarch butterflies that are the highlight of their event. People will be remember that moment of seeing butterflies gracefully gliding in the sky. They might even be able to get a butterfly to perch on their finger or lei before the butterfly flutters away. Through butterfly releases, butterflies will help replenish the dwindling butterfly population in many parts of the state.

Creating smiles one butterfly at a time…
